Community Partnerships Bring Fun and Connection to Marion Outreach Center
Safe Harbor Peer Support Services is incredibly grateful for the generosity of several community partners who have helped make our Marion Outreach Center an even more welcoming and engaging place for the individuals we serve.
Thanks to the United Way of North Central Ohio, our Marion Outreach Center recently received a donated PlayStation 3 gaming system. This generous gift was made possible through the support of Big Jay's Replays in Findlay, Ohio, who donated the gaming system to help enhance opportunities for recreation and connection at our center.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Paul, owner of Dark Iron Cosplay Designs in Marion, for his generous donation of a PlayStation 4 gaming system. His support demonstrates the incredible spirit of giving that exists within our local community.
While gaming may seem like simple entertainment, it plays an important role in the recovery journey for many of our peers. Video games create opportunities for individuals to build friendships, strengthen communication skills, reduce social isolation, and simply enjoy time together in a safe, supportive environment. These shared experiences help foster meaningful connections and a sense of belonging; an essential part of mental health and recovery.
Community partnerships like these remind us that recovery is strengthened when neighbors come together to support one another. Every donation, every volunteer, and every act of kindness helps create a place where hope grows and lives are changed.
On behalf of everyone at Safe Harbor Peer Support Services, thank you to the United Way of North Central Ohio, Big Jay's Replays, and Paul of Dark Iron Cosplay Designs for investing in our peers and believing in our mission. Your generosity is helping build a stronger, more connected Marion community; one relationship at a time.
